HIGH TEMPERATURE LEAD WIRE, UL approved, is mechanically
bonded to the resistance wire. The conductor is braided nickel-clad wire,
sleeved in fiberglass insulation.
CERAMIC CORES are manufactured to our specifications for their heat transfer and dielectric characteristics. NICKEL-CHROMIUM 80/20 resistance wire is precision coiled and stretched, to ensure a maximum amount of wire within each heater, resulting in lower element temperature while maintaining the desired watt density. IHCO keeps an extensive wire inventory to enable proper wire selection. A BRASS SHEATH is chosen for low density heaters because of its superior heat transfer characteristics. Brass sheaths are most efficient for heaters rated 30 watts per square inch or less. Brass sheaths are specified by many Original Equipment Manufacturers, both foreign and domestic. (Brass sheath not available in all sizes.) A STAINLESS STEEL SHEATH is specified for heaters up to 50 watts per square inch, and used in environments where resistance to oxidation and corrosion is required. |
