Custom and Design Variations
Mica-Insulated Barrel Band Heater
Two-piece heaters with flange, strap or trunion lockup are used for applications where clearing obstacles and clamping two 180deg sections is required. Two-piece heaters may be constructed narrow and wide.  Because of limited heating surface and location of screw terminals, heater with a diameter of less than 4”ID are usually not specified as two-piece. Consult with us regarding suitability of two-piece band heaters for your application.
European Style, Metric Sizes
Mica-Insulated Barrel Band Heater
IHCO manufactures replacement heaters for various machines manufactured in Europe and the Pacific– injection molding, extruders, packaging, decorating, thermoforming, wire-processing, and many other machines.  In addition, IHCO manufactures heaters with European style pin contacts and quick disconnect plugs.  Rust-resistant shell
120 volt and 240 volt

Standard
Ceramic-Insulated Band Heater
Ceramic-Insulated Band Heaters were patented by the founder of Industrial Heater Corp., L. E. Steiner.

APPLICATIONS
All types of plastics processing machines
Research and development
Wire processing, both radiant heat and conduction
Decorating machines
Die heaters
Metal injection molding

FEATURES
Energy efficient due to Kaowool® Insulation Blanket between heating element and shell of heater
Functions as a radiant heater when required, as with decorating machines and ovens
Functions as a conduction heater when installed in tight contact with a cylindrical application

Recognizing the many advantages of ceramic-insulated heaters, many OEM customers include them as standard components. Ceramic-insulated heaters are found on the majority of injection molding machines worldwide. Easy to install due to interconnecting ceramic bodies that allow heater to open easily and wrap around cylindrical shape without two- piece construction.

Exceeds service life of non-ceramic process heaters (up to 35 WSI and 300 volts)
Unaffected by expansion of cylinder being heated
Withstands environments up to 1200F at 50 WSI
High dielectric strength, superior to other insulation at over 300 volts

Strap Lockup, Screw Terminals
Mica-Insulated Barrel Band Heater
APPLICATION
Strap Lockup standard for many OEM Large diameter heaters

FEATURES
Offers greater flexibility in heater selection for industrial user
Thin wall gives quick response to controls
Precision-wound on specially designed machines
1000F under optimum conditions
Stainless steel strap has lower coefficient of expansion– holds heater tight to surface being
heated
Lockup point of strap can be rotated to more convenient position
Two-piece straps offer hinge effect when opening heater

Stainless steel straps
Screw and trunion lockup
Rust-resistant aluminized steel shell
1 strap per 2” width
Screw terminals

Recommended Construction:
     5”ID and less– one-piece construction
     5”ID to 10”ID– one-or two-piece construction
11”ID and over– two-piece construction Compression springs can be added to stock heaters

Recommended wattage:   20 to 35 WSI
